Coromandel

After a week of bad weather, it was a delight to see a sunny day on Sunday 22 May 2016. I collected 6 passengers from Auckland Institute of Studies and another 1 from downtown, Auckland, making a group of 5 people from South Korea, 2 from Japan and myself. There was very little traffic, so the drive to Tairua, Coromandel only took 1 hour 50 minutes.  Continue reading Coromandel

Piha and Karekare

On Saturday 14 May 2016 I picked up 6 people at Auckland Institute of Studies at 9.50am, 4 people at their apartment in the city at 10.15am and the final passenger at Britomart a few minutes later. This made a group of 9 from South Korea, 2 from Japan and myself, and we went to Piha and Karekare.  The day was beautiful – a mostly clear blue sky and about 22 degrees, so it was warm when we were in the sun but it was cooler in the shade. Ambury Farm

On Friday 13 May 2016, a group consisting of 9 South Koreans, 2 Japanese and myself went to Ambury Farm in Mangere, Auckland. We left Auckland Institute of Studies at 2.40pm and arrived at Ambury at 3pm. At first, it was quite cloudy, and it threatened to rain but we only got a very brief 2 or 3 minute shower and finally the sky cleared and we had a nice blue sky. It was probably 20 degrees but seemed a bit cooler because of the wind which was blowing off the Manukau Harbour. Continue reading Ambury Farm
