Hi! I’m David, aka Jafadave. Thanks for visiting my website.
I thoroughly enjoy meeting people, talking with them and showing them around both the Auckland region and the areas which surround Auckland. I specialise in tours to places which are not on the usual tourist track. I take plenty of photos during the trips and these are supplied free of charge for all people who join me on these tours.
As well as being a tour organiser, driver and guide, I am a teacher, teaching English to international students at Auckland Institute of Studies in Auckland and therefore I am an ideal tour organiser, driver, and guide for those who come from a non-English speaking country as well as students who are learning English.
I was born in Auckland and have spent most of my life since then in Auckland. I had a very active childhood, going to beaches, forests and mountains around Auckland, Coromandel and the region north of Auckland and doing a wide range of activities in these places. I continued exploring these places with my friends as a teenager and have carried this on all my adult life. Therefore I know all the attractions – both large and easy to find and small or well-hidden – in these natural places. Tourists cannot find many of these attractions without a highly knowledgeable local guide.
I enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, have been a swimmer since childhood and started scuba diving (and snorkelling) as soon as I was old enough to learn. I have PADI Assistant Instructor and Divemaster qualifications and I worked for dive shops both in Auckland and overseas. Although I no longer work in the dive industry, I am an ideal tour leader / guide for people who want to arrange snorkelling, scuba diving or swimming at beaches in the region.
I have travelled extensively through East and Southern Africa, and have excellent local contacts in these exciting places. I arrange tours to this area, especially safaris, cultural activities and diving trips.
If you want exceptional experiences, wonderful memories and great photographs, contact me and join one (or more) of my tours.
